The following are a sampling of NOMAI partnerships developed since the founding of the Institute:


Nolatown stresses a solid foundation in core concepts and principles. Focusing on the importance of organization and collaboration allow them to expand their creativity while giving them a solid foundation and a working knowledge of the industry.

Their program model gives participants lessons that are currently applied in today’s industry and will continue to apply even as the technology associated with filmmaking, video production and editing is upgraded. Technologies will change and progress through time, and their curriculum models will give participants the tools they need to navigate the changes in the industry as they occur. The curriculums encompasses studies through the pre-production to post-production process including writing, directing, shooting, editing, and hands-on-exercises geared towards industry production standards.

Smothers Academy, Incorporated, a Nolatown Cooperative Partner, is a non-profit organization whose primary purpose is to provide opportunities to underserved members of the New Orleans and surrounding communities. With activities ranging from a proposed public college preparatory charter school for boys to a media arts job training program, the primary purpose of Smothers Academy, Incorporated is to provide opportunities to New Orleans area residents children from underserved communities. In an effort to introduce to New Orleans to comprehensive media arts and film technology programs Smothers Academy has partnered with Nolatown to deliver educational and job training programs to deliver high quality education, ranging from introductory level instruction to first-rate training on state-of-the-art equipment utilizing technology that meets or exceeds industry standards.
